Frequently Asked Questions

Services & Scheduling

What services do you offer?
Steppin’ Woof! offers dog walking, running, drop-in visits, pet sitting, overnight care, poop scoop-up, pet taxi, and a variety of fun add-ons to pamper your pets.

How do I schedule services?
Scheduling is done through our secure client portal, Time to Pet, where you can request services, view your calendar, and manage payments, but you can also call or text us and we can book your services for you.

Can I book last-minute services?
We do our best to accommodate last-minute requests! Same-day requests are subject to availability.

Payments & Policies

How does payment work?
We use Time To Pet Payments powered by Stripe. Payments are processed automatically 2 days before the first scheduled service in a booking. Clients who prefer not to store payment information can pay manually through Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours’ notice for standard and pet taxi/concierge services and 72 hours for overnight stays. Cancellations outside these windows may be subject to 50% of service charge. Last-minute cancellations and no shows will be charged 100% of service.

Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are not guaranteed but may be issued in the case of service errors or at our discretion in special circumstances. We do not refund for completed services.

Safety & Care

Is Steppin’ Woof! insured and bonded?
Yes! We are fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind.

Do you require vaccinations?
Yes — for the safety of all pets in our care, we require proof of current rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccinations. You must submit proof of vaccinations before any services may be completed.

Will my dog walk with other dogs?
That depends on your preference. We typically do not walk dogs who are not from the same household together, but if your dog enjoys the company of other dogs and they have a friend in the neighborhood also doing a walk, we may walk them together with permission from you and the other pet parent. If you have multiple dogs with different walking styles, we may walk them separately at your request or at our discretion.

What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. In extreme weather (heat, storms, snow/ice), we may have to cancel the service, especially if the roads are dangerous. If travel is possible, we will shorten outdoor time and provide indoor enrichment and short potty breaks instead.

Access & Communication

How will you get into my home?
We do not hold keys, so we require the client have a lockbox, electronic lock with code or garage code. Steppin’ Woof! can provide a lockbox at an additional cost. We keep all access information secure and confidential.

How do I know what happened during the walk or visit?
After every service, you’ll get a detailed report card through our client portal with notes, photos, and even GPS tracking for walks.

What if my pet has special needs?
We’re happy to customize care for pets with medications, mobility issues, or other needs — just let us know during onboarding.
